VAT Zero Rating

We do not charge VAT on all qualifying products provided the person buying/being bought for qualifys for VAT exemption. We only require a signed declaration stating that you wish to claim VAT exemption (zero rating) as the product is needed to assist with your/or the person you are buying for's long term chronic disability. Normally we send this form to you at point of order but it can also be printed from this website also. This form needs to be returned to us WITHIN 14 days from date of order.

If you are in any doubt as to whether you are eligible to receive goods or services zero-rated for VAT you should consult Notice 701/7 VAT - reliefs for disabled people or contact the Cutoms & Excise National Advice Service on 0845 010 9000 before signing the declaration.

Warranty Policy

We are official dealers for all of the products that we supply and offer the goods with the normal manufacturer's parts warranty, typically 12 months, subject to the exclusions detailed below.

In addition, for all major mobility products i.e. mobility scooters, riser-recliners, bath lifts we also cover the labour costs associated with repairs under the warranty, subject again to the exclusions below. Where problems do occur, we will normally look to repair the product on site. In some cases, the manufacturer themselves will visit and rectify the problem. We may also arrange for the item to be returned to us by courier for repair. Please note for all warranty repairs, the on site repairs will only be carried from their original delivery location.

General warranty exclusions:

- Parts which need adjustment, re-setting, replacement or repair due to abuse, fair wear & tear or to suit the individual needs of the user i.e. tyres, lap belts, bulbs, plastic shrouds and upholstery (damaged post receipt) , motor bushes, normal battery degredation, wheelchair brake adjustment, circuit braker resetting, resetting user-induced problems on riser-recliners - cleared by disconnecting/re-connecting hand control etc.. Where call-outs occur for such items the purchaser will remain liable for the call-out, parts and labour costs. However, we will do our utmost to minimise these by talking through problems in depth before arranging to visit. Experience shows that many problems can be attributable to a lack of user familiarity and can often be overcome with some simple fault diagnosis and guidance on the phone.

- Damage attributable to misuse or accident for which we cannot be deemed responsible.


Delivery & Returns Policy

In most cases we are able to deliver mobility products and living aids within 14 days (many within 5 days). However, due to the nature of mobility products and living aids, some specialist items are produced to order. Therefore, it is advisable for you to contact us before placing your order so that we can give you an approximate delivery date. When a mobility product or living aid is ready for despatch we will normally contact you to let you know when it will be delivered to you.

As part of the conditions of sale customers are required to inspect all goods on receipt and are to annotate the Courier's documentation with details of damage to either the packaging or the goods themselves. Where this is not done, and the Courier subsequently disputes liability, then Mobility Zone Ltd. will not be responsible for the costs associated with repair or replacement. In all cases, damage to goods is to be reported to Mobility Zone Ltd at the earliest opportunity.

When you buy from us you have a cooling off period of seven days from the day you receive the goods. This means that if you decide that you do not want the mobility product supplied then you can receive a full refund within 30 days provided that you notify us in writing within seven days of the receipt of goods that you want to return it. You will remain liable for the actual carriage costs incurred by Mobility Zone Ltd for both the issue and return of the goods. To claim under these terms the mobility product must be unused, in the original undamaged packaging and the product must not be damaged in any way. Mobility products that are specifically tailored to the individual and/or ordered in specifically for you are excluded e.g. rise & recline chairs in a size/fabric of your choice, adjustable beds, powerpacks and special order wheelchairs that are made to your specific requirements. Bath lifts are not returnable due to hygiene reasons. Ramps are also non returnable items so please check your measurements carefully.

All orders that are returned will be subject to a 15% administration and handling charge unless otherwise agreed. Customers who decide to return goods which required specific skilled technicians to visit the delivery address or the goods were bought to order will only have 80% of the total value of the purchase redeemed, this is due to the cost of delivery and specific skilled personnel utilised in the home visit. Where deliveries are sent out by national carrier as is the case with most wheelchairs, walkers and other smaller items, the carrier will attempt delivery twice on two seperate occasions. The first time the carrier will leave a card wherby the customer is able to call their local depot and request a delivery time of their choosing. If delivery is not successful after these two delivery attempts we will attempt to deliver a third time at a cost of £10.

We recommend where possible that all customers have an assessment to diagnose their needs as accurately as possible. Where customers have a severe disability we recommend that they obtain an assesment from an occuptional therapist and then return to us with these details for product selection.

Please note that delivery to Northern Ireland will incur an extra charge of £15 in addition to normal delivery costs. We do not currently deliver to Southern Ireland.

Mobility Zone Ltd will comply fully with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000

Delivery Information - Mobility Scooters

The prices shown on our website for mobility scooters are for FREE carrier doorstep delivery option to anywhere within the UK mainland. This does not apply however to mid size and large class 3 mobility scooters. Due to their size they must be delivered by one of our specialist engineers. This will be at a small cost depending on where you live. The prices for this are detailed below.

Delivery Information: Riser Recliners

The prices shown on our website for riser recliners are for FREE carrier doorstep delivery option to anywhere within the UK mainland. If you require setup and installation of the rising recliner chair, please either call for a quotation or state that you require installation on your online order. The prices for installation are detailed below:

40 miles - 100 miles = £45
Above 100 miles = please call for a quotation

Once the riser recliner arrives with us, we will call you to arrange a suitable delivery date.

Delivery Information: Adjustable Beds

The prices shown on our website for adjustable beds do not include delivery and installation of the adjustable beds. The prices for installation are detailed below:

Please note: When taking delivery of large items i.e. beds, riser recliners, large scooters etc; Mobility Zone request that the passage into the room chosen for delivery is cleared of any breakable items (including those hanging on walls) by the customer, as we cannot accept responsibility for any damages caused to such items in the course of a delivery.

Delivery Information: High Back and High Seat Chairs

High Seat Chairs are delivered personally by our engineers and fully installed into your home. To enable us to do us, we have a delivery cost structure which is outlined below.
